At the beginning of the year I put together a reading challenge that I knew I could win. Yes, it was completely selfish. I am a slow reader that has looked on jealously at all the high achievers on Instagram and Twitter. I don’t usually read more than 1-2 books a month. So, my #2021CozyChallege is just that– one book a month.
January I read V.M. Burns The Plot is Murder . In February, it was fellow Cozy Florida blogger Tara Lush’s Grounds for Murder. March’s culinary theme had me craving Vivien Chin’s Noodle Shop Mystery series.
But this month, April, has to be my favorite theme of all. Pick a cozy set in your state. Hello, hello! Hola! My state is FLORIDA and I love to talk about how great a place we are, especially South Florida. That admiration was my inspiration for this blog.
Here is an incomplete list of cozy mysteries set in Florida: Lucy Burdette Key West Food Critic series, Nancy J. Cohen Bad Hair Day series and shes even got a cookbook, Lesley A. Diehl’s Eve Appel books set in rural Florida, Sherry Harris’s Sea Glass Saloon beer series, fellow CF blogger Cheryl Hollon’s Webb Glass Shop series, Diane A.S. Stuckart’s Tarot Cats book, Linda Gordon Hengerer Beach Tea books, Elaine Viet’s Dead End Job series, Deborah Sharp’s hilarious “mama” series, and one of Joanna Campbell Slan‘s series is set in Stuart. I know I’m caffeine deprived and have left out plenty of fun Florida set cozies. Please forgive me and pipe up in the comments with the authors and titles.
Cozy authors and readers are welcome to use the yellow #2021CozyChallenge graphic. Please tag me, LatinaSleuths and use the hashtag. I want to see all the great reads you and your friends choose to fit the themes.
