There is a quaint town in central Florida called Arcadia. My family and I have been there several times to enjoy the antique stores and sites. I especially love the Old Opera House which is full off odd theatrical memorabilia along with being a great antique store. There are some charming homes off the Main Street tourist area. At one point there was a cute B & B but I believe it went out of business. I hope someone has brought it back! (Retirement option idea!)

Arcadia is a nice day trip to make or a lovely add on to a trip to Ft Myers or Sarasota. It is by the Peace River which is a favorite camp and kayak site for many Floridians.

It was on, or rather in, the Peace River that a couple of divers found a 10,000 year old , 50 pound mammoth bone just last week!
Can you imagine? Wow! What’s the coolest thing you’ve found?
