Cheryl’s happy place!
This beautiful building is at the corner of Central Avenue and 4th Street North in downtown St. Petersburg, FL. It’s the Snell Arcade (also known as the Rutland Building) and was built in 1926. It has also served as the site for the Rutland Department Store. In 2003, it was renovated and converted into 12 residential condos on its upper floors with ground-level retail and basement office spaces.
The real treasure is on the ground floor is my favorite shop. It’s a magnificent, decadent, delicious, handily right across the street from my work office, Schakolad Chocolate store.
Not only do they serve fabulous coffee, croissants, hot chocolate, and espresso, but a fabulous selection of bite-sized assorted chocolates. While pounding the keyboard is my new fun job, I get a little hungry at about two o’clock in the afternoon. Iced coffee and dark chocolate salted caramel candy is just the ticket.
My kids know about my afternoon addition and ordered this chocolate stiletto for my Mother’s Day gift. I’ve done well in raising my children to be kind.
