This weekend was a flurry of book signing events for my new Paint & Shine mystery series. I went to two independent bookstores and also had afternoon tea with some local Florida authors.
The Saturday event was at Books at Park Place with fellow author J.D. Allen who came over from St. Augustine to visit for the first time in over a year. Things are beginning to open up around town, and there was good traffic and lively sales – happy, happy! Connect with the store at their Facebook site:
After that, I met with several other authors for afternoon tea at Blush. We caught up with industry doings and indulged in hanging out with other writers.
The following day was a private event with a new independent bookstore in downtown St. Petersburg. Book + Bottle advertises itself as a book store with wine and a wine store with books. We offered tickets for a signed book along with a biscuit and a mimosa or coffee. I gave an author’s talk, and there were great questions from the audience. It was a truly memorable weekend. It feels good to be moving toward supporting both book stores and authors in their native habitat.
My husband and I recently moved into a small condo apartment in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. I came across a box of books that I didn’t even know I had during the move. LOL! The books are DOWN IN FLAMES (Webb’s Glass Shop Book #6), so I will give away a copy to a randomly selected reader who posts a comment on this blog.
